PERSONAL. —The Manuka, which recommissioned at Dunedin yesterday, is in temporary command of Captain J. Ryan.’ His deck officers are the following:— Chief, Mr. F. J. G. Warren: second, Mr. E. G. K. Meatyard; third. Mr. L. P. Bourke. Captain C. Elders, who has been on holidays, has resumed command of the Waipiata, relieving Captain Ross Clark for instructions. Captain A. B. Sizer, of the Ivairanga, has been transferred to command of the Kaituna, and Captain S. Hewitt, of the latter vessel, has transferred to command of the Kairanga. Mr. J. Warcup has rejoined the Kaimanawa as chief officer, relieving Mr. W. Cole, who will await orders. Mr. 11. A. Brocket! has relieved Mr. F. W. Collins as chief officer of the Hauraki, The latter officer is aw r aiting instructions at Wellington. Captain W. P. Clifton-Mogg, late of the Pakeha, is now master of the liner Tainui. due at Wellington on Sunday from London. Captain T. B. Sew’ell, late master of the Marama, leaves Auckland by this evening’s Limited for Wellington, where he goes on holidays. PHOSPHATES FOR NEW ZEALAND. —The steamer Brockabeck is reported to have cleared Mauritius last Monday, en route from Seychelles Island to New Zealand. KENT CLEARED COLON.—The Federal Line steamer Kent is reported to have cleared Colon last Monday, en route from Auckland to London, Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool. She sailed from Auckland on July 19. DUNROBIN FOR BUNKERS.—The steamer Dunrobin. which has been discharging raw sugar from Cuba at Chelsea under the agency of Spedding, Limited, leaves Auckland at 5 p.m. tomorrow’ for Westport, where she bunkers before proceeding overseas. TUTANEKAI DUE TODAY.—The Marine Department’s maintenance steamer Tutanekai is due in port today from attending to the Hauraki Gulf lights. She will berth at Central Wharf. Tomorrow and on Saturday morning she will be loading stores for Northern lighthouses and it is honed to dispatch her on that trip on Monday. THE CITY OF LINCOLN.—En route from New’ York to New’ Zealand, the A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer City of Lincoln is reported to have cleared Panama last Monday. The vessel is bringing cargo for discharge at Suva, Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on September 10. The New Zealand Shipping Company is the local agent. RONA'S MOVEMENTS.—The Colonial Sugar Refining Company’s vessel Rona is at present engaged loading superphosphate for Fiji at King’s Wharf. On Saturday morning she will move up to Chelsea Wharf to discharge her cargo of raw sugar, that berth at present being occupied by the Dunrobin. It is expected j that the Rona •will sail for Fiji, via SyjJi ney, about next Wednesday.
TANKER FROM JAVA.—The London tanker Emile Deutsch de la Meurthe is reported to have cleared Sourabaya, Java, last Monday with bulk oil for New Zealand. KIA ORA SAILS. —The Shaw. Savill and Albion Company’s steamer Kia Ora, which has been loading in the South Island, left Wellington early this morning for London and West Coast ports of England, via the Cape Horn route. FOXTON SAILS TOMORROW.—The Canterbury Steamship Company's new auxiliary schooner Foxton, which went on her trial trip yesterday, leaves Auckland tomorrow afternoon for Wellington and Foxton. Cargo for these two ports will be received tomorrow.
KAITOKE TO RESUME.—The local office of the Union Company advises that the collier Kaitoke, which has been under overhaul and survey at Auckland, and is now anchored in the stream, resumes running next week, and leaves here on Monday for Gladstone, Queensland, to load coal for Xew Zealand. WAIOTAPU DUE SATU RDAY.—The local office of the Union Company has received a further radio message stating the trans-Pacific cargo steamer Waiotapu is now expected to arrive at Auckland on Saturday evening from the Pacific Coast, via Papeete. She will berth at the Western Wharf, and afterwards proceeds to Melbourne and Sydney to complete discharge. RARANGA REPORTS AGAIN.—A further radio message received by A. S. Paterson and Company states that the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s steamer Raranga is now expected to arrive at Auckland tomorrow from Liverpool. After landing the local portion of her West of England cargo at the Queen’s Wharf, the vessel proceeds to Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff to complete. RIMUTAKA’S PASSENGERS. The Xew Zealand Shipping Company has received a wireless message from the Rimutaka stating that she expects to arrive from London and Southampton on Saturday afternoon. The vessel has passengers, mail for New Zealand, and cargo for discharge at Auckland and Wellington. The following is the advance list of passengers:—Mr. and Mrs. W. Hindi©, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Piper, Master G. W. Piper, Mrs, B. Garde-Hansen, Miss E. and Master H. Garde-Hansen, Mrs. R. M. Black, Mrs. J. M. U. McCulloch, the Rev J. R. Wilford, the -Misses M. G. Draper, E. M. Gifkins, C. Holdsworth, A. C. O’Neill, R. Baton. Messrs. R. R. Baret, G L Tacon, and 74 third-class Captain C. B. Lamb is in command, and Dr. H.,X. Witham is the medical officer. ISLANDS SERVICES.—The Tofua left Auckland on August 10 for Suva, where she arrived at 3 p.m. yesterday. She will leave Suva tomorrw at 4 p.m., and go thence to Nukualofa, Haapai, Vavau and Apia. She will clear Apia on August 26 for Suva, and sail from the latter port on August 29 for Auckland direct, where she is due on September 2. The Moeraki left Sydney on August 9 for Suva, via Noumea. She left Xoumea on Tuesday for Suva, where she is due on Saturday, and will leave Suva, on Monday morning for Lautoka and return to Suva in the afternoon. She will clear Suva on Monday evening for Sydney direct. The Waipahi left Rarotonga on August 9 for Aitutaki, Atiu, Mauke, Mangaia and will return to Rarotonga. She will clear the latter port for Auckland direct tomorrow and is due here next Thursday.
