PRESENTATION AT RAETIHI
Members of the Raetihi Bowling Club met to say farewell to Mr. E. F. Gibson, last year’s president and for a number of years a prominent member of the club. The president, Mr. B. A. Drury, wished Mr. and Mrs. Gibson and family happiness and success in their new home at Levin. He mentioned Mr. Gibson’s sterling qualities as a bowler and as a friend. Mr. Gibson was one of the club’s best skips and would be very much missed in the inter-club competitions. During his terms of office as president and committeeman he had been one of their best workers. A number of other speakers endorsed Mr. Drury’s remarks. Mr. Drury then asked Mr. Gibson to accept a small token of the club’s appreciation and also presented him with a trophy won during the past season. Mr. Gibson suitably replied.
