FATAL DRINK

ACID SWALLOWED BY MISTAKE DEATH OF A PAINTER Press Association DARGAVILLE, Today. After drinking spirits of salts by mistake, Cyril E. Salmon, a painter, 38, of Donnelly’s Crossing, died on the way to hospital. Mr. Salmon had breakfast yesterday with his brother, a recent arrival from Australia, and then went to work in a shed nearby. Later he returned to tell his brother he had taken spirits of salts by mistake. He was placed in a car and rushed to Te Kopuru Hospital, 35 miles away, but died on the way. An inquest will be held today.
