SHOTS FIRED AT APIA

FOUR RIOTING COOLIES WOUNDED POLICE AND STRIKERS FIGHT (Australian. and N.Z. Press Association) APIA, Tuesday. There was a conflict yesterday between 250 coolies who are on strike and. the police, who fired two shots in the air and then several revolver shots in self-defence. There were 14 casualties among the coolies. {our of whom were wounded by bullets, one seriously, and the remainder injured by batons. Some of the Samoan and European police were slightly injured by stones.
