A very enjoyable bridge putty ‘was held last evening at the Cafe Delmonice. in connection with the Auckland brunt-h of the Overseas League. Miss A. R. Quayle. secretary of the League, organised the evening, and twenty-two tables were engugei for play. )liss Quayle wore a. black crepe (le soie frock, draped at the sides, and a. black and white fur shoulder wrap. Pedestal bowls of palms. and tall vases of golden and tangerine Iceland poppies were arranged artistically around the room. Among those who had taken tables were Mrs. C. E.
