BY-LAW CHANGES
AMENDMENTS DOLPHINS, COAL AND SEWAGE Amendments to several of the Auckland Harbour Board’s by-laws were adopted at. a special meeting of the board, held yesterday afternoon. One of these amendments states that no owner, master or agent of a vessel is to use any dolphin belonging to or controlled by the board without first having obtained permission of the harbourmaster in writing and paying the necessary fees. The following words have been added to by-law 189: “A true and correct account of all coal and other goods discharged overside from one vessel to another, whether at Wharves or in the stream, shall be supplied to the wharfinger by the master, owner or agent of the vessel discharging the goods." Another amendment says that all applications for permission of licence to discharge sewage into the harbour, or harbours, of Auckland or Manukau, are to be submitted to the board for approval. Any such applications are to be accompanied by plans and specifications, giving any information which the board may require regarding the methods of disposal, outfalls, etc
The board will be allowed to make any alterations it thinks fit to such plans and specifications. All expenses incurred by the board or engineer or officer of the board while engaged on any such work as that mentioned above are to be paid for, and in addition to this a fee 01’ one guinea will be charged for every inspection made by the Harbour Board's engineer.
