FORTY YEARS’ SERVICE
MR. J. EMACKLEY HONOURED With 4 Oyears’ service to the Railway Department behind him, the retiring locomotive engineer for the North Island, Mr. J. F. Mackley, was the guest of. the Drivers’, Firemen and Cleaners’ Association at a. cmoke concert. Mr. R. Carroll presided and pre—sented 111'. Blackley With a, smoker’s outfit. The divisional superintendent, Mr. E. Casey, and the former general manager of! railways, Mr. R. W. McVilly, were present and spoke of Mr. Mackley as a. highly efficient railway officer, and of his popularity with the men in the service.
