Molnbers bf the us—sociution were welcomed by Bro. Blomlcy, president. of the “'aitemuta Indoor Bowling Association, and a member of the Avondale Lodge, who expressed the pleasure of the Avondule brethren at this first visit of the Auckland Friendly Soaieties‘ Association, which he hoped would be the fore—runner of many similar friendly visits. Two games were played before supper and one game afterward.
Bro. Harris, president of. the Auckiand Association, replying for the visitors, thanked the Avondale brethren for a. very pleasant evening. Ho particularly complimented Avon-
dale on its women players, with their aggressive skip. 'l‘lluii‘ play was of a very high merit. and well up to tournamont standard. Next. year's tonrneys should see several teams of all women players. who would hold their own with must men’s teams. Avondule lmd four men's and 01m women‘s team, while the visitors played two men’s, two mixed and one woman’s teams.
