“LONESOME” Is it right for a man to "pick up" a girl? Can a great romance grow out of such a. friendship? In “Lonesome,” Universal's simple “boy and girl" story, now showing at the Tivoli and Everybody's Theatres, the plot is based on such an occurrence, although the chief theme and the “villain” of the picture is Lonesomeness. The story is unfolded in one of the _most unique methods ever used on the screen. and uses colour. photographic and other effects that are making motion picture history. Glenn ’.l‘ryon is starring with Barbara. Kent. Eddie Phillips, Gustux'e_ I’artos and Fay Holderness in thevsupporting cast. \ Paul Fejos. director of “Lonesome." gained his first motion picture experience directing films in Hungary. France and Germany. He is a. native of Budapest. and was graduated with an LLD. from the Royal Hungarian Umversity. "Lonesome" was his first picture in the United suites under studio supervision. and its unique colour and photographic innovations mark it as one of the most unusual films of the season. . -_

Among the interesting supporting films at both theatres is “The California. Mail," a. stirring 'Western picture starring the clever outdoor actor. Ken Maynard.
