Dundas Boy Should be Favourite Tomorrow
l TOUGH OPPONENTS ' KING GEORGE HANDICAP ’ By ABAYDOS ! After his splendid form at the ‘r end of last season. backed up by 1' his great effort on Saturday. Dun- ; das Bay has every claim to be in. stalled favourite for the King l George Handicap tomorrow. Although Roy Berry‘s pacer failed to‘ take the first certificate away from Roi L'Or in the August Handicap, there‘ was no disgrace in getting defeated ‘by such a consistent and dashing per—--Iformer. especially after attempting to iconcede an impossible start to thel IWinner over the final half—mile. But ’in that defeat, Dundas Boy gave a: taste of his rare qualities and he went‘ under gamcly. As a result of his essay the Auckland-owned gelding has crept nearer the New Zealand Cup limit. but it is a case of so near and yet so far. he being on a 4.27 mark, His prospects of entering the ”eligibles" for the November race tomorrow are rosy indeed. and barring accidents Mr. McMillan's pacer should make his claim for inclusion secure when the King George Handicap comes up for decision. Tough Opponents There is no certainty about racing. however, and allowing for this undeni—able phase of the sport. it must not be assumed that Dundas Boy has any mortgage on the event under review. ‘The chestnut will find several tough opponents in the field. and while Logan Chief off the front may peter out at the business end. Young Blake is likely Ito make :1 “job" of the pacers, proIviding he goes away cui'rectly. His istable companion. Glideaway. is likely gto be all the better [or the run on xSaturday and must he a “danger" Jpackage. Silk Thread is generally ,better second time .out And Kin: {Pointer is handily placed and will be
a. thorn in the side of his riyals. Lam Park will no doubt find the Journey W 0 far, but Padlock will give all hands 3 fright now that he is back to form-I-lis finish on Saturday in the mill: suggests he will see the twmmld ‘journey out all right. Quality s‘lo“] make her presence felt and Terenc¢ [Dillon will be closer at the (and than {several of those in front ‘of 1111'? m “z: lhandicap. However. 1t pfmts IDundas 1303' being favourite n 3.1109 Ilhat promises to be keen and excnlnf: and his toughest opponents will PW ably be Glideaway, Padlock and King Pointer. 1929 TROTTING FIXTURES ’ .\‘.Z.
