FLYING ANGEL MISSION
ATTENDANCE SHOWS TWOFOLD INCREASE EFFECT OF NEW QUARTERS Since the Flying Angel Mission to Seamen moved into its new temporary quarters from Emily Place to part of the Nary League rooms in Custom* Street, six weeks ago, the attendance of seafarers has doubled. The increase is directly attributable to the fact that the mission is considerably nearer the waterfront, and easier of access by visiting seamen. It is hoped that when the new perman* ent home is under consideration, a suitable site will be found near the wharves. Tho sailors are appreciating the work of the chaplain, the Rev. H. K* Vickery, who is maintaining the spiri* tual side, and a succession of enjoyable entertainments, with the help of Anglican church choirs and social organisations. The Ladies’ Harbour Lights Guild is continuing to take a foremost part in the assistance of th e mission. There is a wide distribution of literature and writing materials, and at present the demand is greater than the supply.
