FIRE IN DRAPER’S SHOP INCENDIARISM SUSPECTED Press Association MARTON, Today. Shortly before five this morning fire was discovered in two places at the front and rear of premises occupied by V. Edhouse, draper, Bulls. The fire brigade with the chemical engine suppressed the outbreak, but not before considerable damage had been done. The stock suffered greatly from smoke and water. Later, it was found that a wooden panel of the rear door had been broken, and there was strong evidence of incendiarism. Mr . Edhouse is at present in Christchurch, and any estimate of the damage or insurance is not available. FARMHOUSE DESTROYED FIRE NEAR OPUNAKE Press Association lIAWERA, Today. During the temporary absence of the owner and occupier, Mr. J. Martin, an eight-roomed farmhouse, near Opunake, was completely destroyed by fire with all the contents, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Information as to insurances on the building are not available. The furniture was insured for £SOO.
