OFT IN THE STILLY NIGHT

Sir,— The rat-tat-tat staccato cough of the übiquitous “one-lunger” mingles with the deep roar of the highpowered machine as they pursue their noisy way up Park Road, Grafton, at all hours of the night. What are the City traffic officers doing to allow these motor-cyclists to create as much row as possible? A trap could be sprung any night in the week and a good haul made of those “pests” without silencers on their machines. The Motor Regulations seem to be made for the observance of car and truck owners—in fact everyone except motor-cyclists, who seem to be allowed to break the law with impunity. Pity it is that some traffic “cop” did not live in Park Road and have as little sleep as I have had o’ recent nights. YUGO CROOK.
