“General Post’' an Amusing Play

PRODUCTION FOR CHARITIES Several well-known Auckland amateurs will appear in the charity production of “General Post” at the Concert' Chamber of the Town Hall next Thursday evening. James Swan will play Sir Denis Broughton, the part taken by Norman McKinnel in the London production.

—Tornquist Studios. Lilian Braithwaite played Lady Broughton on that occasion and Madge Titheradge played Betty. Ethel Rae and Margo Finlayson will take those two parts in the coming production. "General Post” is one of Harold Terry’s comedies, and enjoyed a successful run just after the war. It deals with the amusing side of social changes brought about by the great struggle. The proceeds from "General Post” will go to the funds of the King's School Chapel, King’s College swimming bath and the S.P.C.A. The season will be for only three nights.
