AUCKLAND CHORAL SOCIETY

“JUDAS MACCABAEUS”

Handel’s immortal oratorio, “Judas Maccabaeus,” has been chosen as the next piece by the Auckland Choral Society. Rehearsals are well forward; and it will be presented at the Town Hall with full chorus and orchestra on Thursday next, August 15. Mr. .Colin Muston, the conductor, has secured the special engagement of the following leading artists for the chief solo roles:—Madam Cora Melvin, soprana; Miss Lillian Woods, mezzosoprano; Miss Madge Clague, contralto; Mr. Arthur Ripley, tenor; and Mr. Len Barnes, baritone. The box plans are open to subscribers on Monday morning and to the general public from Tuesday.
