UNEMPLOYMENT DECREASES

POSITION IN AUCKLAND Unemployment in Auckland is still decreasing, according to figures supplied by the Labour Department this morning, a total of 850 men being registered as out of work, compared with 933 last week. Of this week’s total, 6G5 men are classed as fit for heavy work and 185 for light work only, as against 742 and 191, respectively, last week. During the past week 105 men were placed in work, compared with 155 for the period ending August 10.
