MOUNT EDEN CONGREGATIONAL The ninth annual meeting of the Mount Eden Congregational Tennis Club was held last night in the church hall, Esplanade Road. The president, Mr. F. G. Blott, presided over a large and enthusiastic meeting. Both the secretary’s report and the balance sheet presented by the club's treasurer, Mi'. G. E. Lawson, bespoke a successful season. The secretary reported that the club's new courts, at pi'esent in the course of construction at Nicholson Park, would be ready for play at the end of October. On the unanimous vote of the meeting, it was decided to change the name of the club to Nicholson Park Tennis Club, although it was thought advisable to let the constitution remain as it is. During the evening Mrs. F. G. Blott presented the following trophies to the season’s winners:—Women’s singles, Miss L. Woods; gent’s singles (A. J. Hooton trophy), Mr. W. Gooch; combined doubles (F. G. Blott trophy). Miss Lee and Mr. Sheen; runners-up. combined doubles (Mrs. Blott’s trophy). Miss Lauder and Mr. Kinnear. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron. E. H. Potter, Esq.; president, F. G. Blott, Esq.; vicepresident. Messrs. R. H. Fisher, J. F. Ewen, J. H. Kinnear, J. T. Lediard, A. G. Lee, R. Gummer, O. Ball, W. S. Layland, A. J. Hooton. Dr. A. E. Moore, and Rev R. C. Roberts; club captain, Mr. R. Armitage; hon. auditor, Mr. W. S. Layland; hon. secretary, Mr. Reg. Savory; hon. treasurer, Mr. G. E. Lawson: committee. Misses L. Woods, B. Lee, T. Lauder. F. Valle, and Mrs. Armitage, Messrs. W. Gooch, L. Kinnear, and R. Potter.
