NEW STAG-HUNT RULE
SHOT INSTEAD OF KNIFED IN STREAM CONCESSION TO OBJECTORS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Thursday. Owing to the increasing number of protests against stag hunting on the ground of its cruelty, the secretary of the famous Devon and Somerset Stag Hunt announces that his committee has made the following decision. In future, when a stag takes to the water, hounds will be called off and the stag will be shot instead of being hunted up and down the stream and then killed with a knife.
