MANAGER FOUND SHOT
DEATH IN HOSPITAL Press Association BLENHEIM, Thursday. John Gardiner, aged 32, who was admitted to the Wairau Hospital yesterday suffering from a gunshot wound apparently self-inflicted, died in hospital last night. He was a married man, with no family. He was manager of the Waitohi cheese factory. On being picked up after the shooting, deceased remarked that his act was caused by the after-effects of the war. He had been very depressed at times lately.
