NEW BAND FOR OTAHUHU
A letter was received at last evening’s meeting of the Otahuhu Borough Council from the secretary of a proposed new band at Otahuliu, asking for permission to use tie bandroom owned by the Auckland Mounted Rifles Band, and vested in the Otahuhu Borough Council. The Mayor said that the site and building had been purchased by the late Otahuhu Band, which was now incorporated with the Auckland Mounted Rifles Band. The present band was still a municipal band. The Mayor’s recommendation, that no action should be taken, at the present juncture, and that the secretary be advised that there were vacancies in the present band, and that the co-operation of the members of the new band would be welcomed, was carried.
