FOR THE CHILDREN

DANCING AND PICTURES As a part of the entertainment which is being given in the Lyric Theatre, Symonds Street, tomorrow afternoon, Madame Valeska, the wellknown dancer, will give a short recital with some of her pupils. The effort is being made to meet tho needs of children for suitable motion-picture entertainment, and the dance performance will be in addition to the usual programme. The dances chosen cover a wide range. There will be a country dance in costume, “Shepherds and Shepherdesses,” and a Spanish dance also in costume. The classical dance will be done in the usual soft drapery and set to a Schubert melody. In contrast Madame Vuleska’s “tiny-tots” will corn-hide the performance with “The Frolics of the Clowns,” a clever acrobatic number.

A Harold Lloyd picture will be the feature, and a comedy, travelogue and gazette will be screened.
