POLICE CARE IN SOUTH
CHRISTCHURCH PATROLLED BY SMALL ARMY DETECTIVES AT WORK Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. Already the number of detectives in Christchurch has been considerably increased, and to cope more effectively with incendiarism, they have been devided into two distinct corps. Inspector Rawle. of Wellington, will direct his efforts to tracing the originators of the recent outbreaks. This is the first time in the history of the Dominion that an inspector has been placed in charge of a detective branch for such a purpose. The city and suburbs are being patrolled night and day bv a small army of police officers and detectives. Motor-cars, motor-cycles and bicycles are being used for transport. It is claimed that there is not an unprotected street in the whole of the city area.
