HOCKEY TOURNEY

N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS DRAW FOR SECTIONS Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. At a meeting: of the New Zealand Ladies’ Hockey Association held tonight, it was stated that 14 teams have entered for the New Zealand tourney to be held at Gisborne, commencing on August 29 . Following are the entries and sections allotted: Section A.—Southland, Poverty Bay A, Rotorua, Ruahine, Bush, Auckland A, South Canterbury. Section B. —Canterbury, Wellington Eastern, Auckland B. Poverty Bay B, Wairarapa, Hawke’s Bay B. During the tourney a North v. South Island match will be played and should time permit a Maori v. Pakeha match.

Selectors of the New Zealand team for South Africa will also be present at the tournament.

Miss H. A. Kitto (Wellington) has been appointed New Zealand representative at the tournament. The selectors will be announced on August 20.
