Citizens Bid Au Revoir to the Tourville
Gay Scene on Cruiser for Farewell “At Home” TRUE FRENCH HOSPITALITY A very successful function was held by the captain and officers of ! the French cruiser Tourville yesterday afternoon, when a large gathering of representative citizens were entertained at an “At Home” on board the ship. Captain Abrial received the guests on arrival, and with him was M. Paul Serre, the French Consul. Awnings and flags gave a gay aspect to the cruiser, and the ship’s orchestra played enlivening melodies, which attracted many dancers, both on the quarterdeck and later in the Central Wharf shed. Festive decorations had transformed the shed, which was brightly lighted with electric bulbs, and draped with i flags. Refreshments were lavishly dispensed at a buffet. AMONG THOSE PRESENT Mrs. A. D. Campbell, was in a mulberry fur-trimmed coat, with navy hat. Lady Herdman wore, a black ensemble, with furs and a black hat. Mrs. W. F. Boyle's fawn coat was furtrimmed and she wore a beige hat. Mrs. Douglas was in a beige frock, fur coat and mustard yellow felt hat. | Mrs. George Bassant wore her blue and \ beige flecked coat, with fur collar and cuffs, and a pretty blue felt toque. Mrs. E. H. Milsom wore a black crepe de chine frock and blue hat with her fur coat. Mrs. .1. J. Sullivan was in a flowered ring velvet gown, with white fox furs and beige hat. Mrs. Clews wore a black seal coat, with collar and cuffs of iitch. beige frock and hat. Mrs. Roy Burrett wore an apple green frock under her squirrel coat, with green felt hat. Mrs. H. Goldie was in flowered ring velvet, fur coat and brown hat. Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell was in a black fur-trimmed coat and black hat. Mrs. de Graff Hunter wore limegreen and black jumper suit under 141black coat, chic lime and green felt toque. Mrs. O’Brien wore a coney seal coat and black felt hat. Mrs. L. Patrick was in a patterned georgette frock, with fur coat and beige and brown hat. Mrs. PI. Anderson chose a black and white ensemble, with deepest parma violet hat. Mrs. Craven was in a black facecloth coat and black hat. Mrs. N. Clover was in navy blue, with felt hat to tone. Mrs. O’Riord'an wore a ring velvet gown under her seal coat, close-fitting black hat. Mrs. Mervyn Reed was In her seal coat, with close-fitting black hat. Mrs. Napier wore a black fur-trimmed coat, and black hat. Mrs. Seabrook was in a black and apple-green ensemble, with black hat. Mrs. S. A. Stride chose a brown furtrimmed coat, with beige hat. Mrs. Brigham wore a black fur coat and bldck hat. Mrs. St. J. Clark was in a black fur coat, and almond-green hat. Mrs. Somerset Thomas chose black and white ensemble, with black hat. Mrs. Tiarks wore a black coney seal coat, and black hat, osprey-trimmed. Madame B’oley chose a black satin beaute coat over a georgette frock, and a vieux rose hat. Mrs. A. E. Moore had on a black satin coat, enhanced withr fur, and a small black hat. Mrs. M. C. Gulliver was gowned in black satin beaute, with ' black velour hat. Mrs. Armstrong was wearing an ensemble in chocolate brown. Mrs. G. H. Baker wore a black velour coat, and small black hat. Mrs. Bankart had on a black sealskin coat, and wistaria hat. Mrs. E. C. Huie wore beige chenille gown, with velour hat to tone. Mrs. Morris Copeland wore a georgette frock, with seal coat, and black hat. Mrs. Sutherland was gowned in a pastel ring velvet frock, with hat to tone. Mrs. Allan Moody had on a black broadcloth coat, bordered -with fur, and a black velour hat. Mrs. Victor Macky wore a black furcollared coat, and a small hat of buff felt. Mrs. P. Crisp was in brown fur coat, ! and beige brown hat. Mrs. Watkins wore moleskin coat, with black hat; Mrs. Osborne, chose navy ensemble, with black hat; Mrs. F. Castle's wore blue suit and blrre hat; Mrs. Norbury Avore black fur-trimmed coat, and black cire hat. MANY SMART ENSEMBLES Miss Crichton Imrie was in beige, with hat to tone and fur-collared coat. Miss D. Farquhar wore flowered georgette under her fur coat; black felt hat. Miss Bessie Pagni wore a flowered ring velvet jumper suit under her fur coat; beige hat. Miss Marjorie Moller was in a black cloth suit and hat with flesh pink georgette blouse. Miss Anita Pagni wore a chic beige hat with her fawn moleskin coat. Miss Janet Clarkson's wide-tn-immed navy hat toned with her navy and beige ensemble suit. Miss Germaine Van Osselaer wore a cigar brown cloth coat, fur trimmed, over her beige crepe de chine frock; brown hat. Miss Moira Gulliver was in apple green crepe de chine, with black velvet coat and Miss Rita Cornaga’s moleskin coat was worn over a honey-coloured georgette frock; gold-brown hat an£ furs. Miss Marie Jones wore a blue crepe de chine frock under her fur coat, and a brown felt hat. Miss Crammond was in beige brown coat and hat. Miss Marjorie Somerville was in bottle green ensemble. Miss Winsome Airey wore a chic suit with brown hat and furs.
