GRAFTON PLAYERS IN “MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM”
The Grafton Players, who have produced many interesting modern plays in recent years, turned their attention to Shakespeare last evening, and, at the Unity Hall, gave a very creditable performance of the evergreen fantasy, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The cast was as follow r s: Theseus A. Outram Ilorspool j Hippolyta R- Buckingham Lysander J. N. Gordon Demetrius Ronald Bowie Hermia Winifred Bate Helena Gwen Warren Egeus Gainor Jackson Quince W. Lewis Snug E. R. Pilkington Bottom C. M. Rattray Flute K- McKerras Snout .. .. .. .. .. .. .. S. X. Yallop Starveling A. G. Lee Oberon W. H. Graham Titania Alice Kealy Puck Mai.sie Free Peaseblossom Jean Squire Moth Phyllis Squire Mustard-Seed Dorothy Taylor The play was produced by Mr. Ernest Blair. An orchestra played under the direction of Mr. S. Adams, and fairy ballets were arranged by Miss Marjorie Turner. Muriel Gardner is only 14 years old, but she has already been launched on a career that promises to be one of the most brilliant in the history of dancing. She is the featured dancer in “Fox Movietone Follies of 1929,” the first big musical revue produced for the talking screen.
