CLOTHES ON FIRE

DAMAGE TO CITY HOUSE BLAZE AT GREY LYNN One room was gutted, a passage badly damaged, and another room slightly damaged by a fire which broke out at 20 Rose Road, Grey Lynn, about 10.30 last night. The City Fire Brigade soon had the outbreak under control. The house, which is owned by Mr. Eden, of Richmond Road, is occupied by Mr. O. Ensor. Clothes had been left to dry in front of a fire in the sittingroom, and these were ignited by flying sparks. Before the blaze was noticed, the flames had a good hold. The house is insured for £625 with the South British Insurance Company, and the furniture for £2OO in the Royal Exchange.
