PROFITS DEPLETED rpHE Auckland Trotting Club, *■ during the season just ended, distributed the handsome sum of £28,705 in prize money. Through adverse weather conditions, states the annual report, the profits for the year have been considerably depleted. After allowing £1,889 9s 6d for depreciation, a credit balance of £298 10s 2d remains, of which amount £290 has been transferred to the capital account. The Government’s quota for the year through the taxation channel reached the high figure of £24,326 17s 4d.
