ZEPPELIN AT LAKEHURST

THOUSANDS ACCLAIM SECOND SUCCESS ROUND THE WORLD NEXT (United I*.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and JN'.Z. Press Association) (United Service.) NEW YORK, Sunday. The Graf Zeppelin landed at Lakehufst, New Jersey, at 9.53 p.m. today. This is her second westward crossing of the Atlantic from Friedrichshafen, Germany. She covered the disance—about 5.331 miles —in 95 hours 23 minutes, compared with 111 hours 40 minutes on her first trip of 6,275 miles. The dirigible brought 19 passengers, one unnamed stowaway, a crew of 40, a cargo of merchandise and some mails. The immigration and customs inspectors were the first to board the airship, after which the passengers descended quietly in the presence of thousands of cheering spectators. The commander, -Dr. Hugo Eckener, appeared to be pleased with the easy landing and talked spiritedly with the officials. The Graf Zeppelin will remain in the hangar at Lakehurst until Wednesday, when she will begin a round-the-world flight from there to Friedriichshafen, on to Tokyo and back to Los Angeles and Lakehurst. Passengers will be charged a fare of £I,BOO each. On his present visit to America Dr. Eckener will consider plans for another round-the-world cruise in 1930, when he may visit the North Pole.
