FOUND ON MUDBANK

BODY OF OLD MAN MISSING FOR TWO DAYS (From Our Own Correspondent J WHANG AREI, Monday. Last seen at 4.30 on Saturday afternoon, Mr. John Worthington, aged 84, disappeared from the home of his married daughter, Mrs. Isherwood, Clyde Street, Whangarei. His dead body was found this morning. When Mr. Worthington disappeared search parties were formed and a search made without result during the week-end. At about 11.30 o’clock this morning Mr. Palmer, of Otaiko, and Mr. Isherwood, junr., found the body on a mudbank at Duck Creek. Owing to his advanced age Mr. Worthington was mentally and physically enfeebled, and was much given to wandering by himself. The body was discovered near the railway bridge which spans Duck Creek, and it is surmised that the old man fell when crossing the line.
