Cleary, Consuls of Auckland and their wives, the Deputy-Mayor, Mr. A. J. Entrican, Captain L>. V. Wells, of H. 11.5. Diomede, Mr. C. H. T. Palmer, president of the Navy League, and Lieutenant-Colonel J. Duigan were emoag the guests. A brilliant success was achieved at the French Club's ball, in honour of Captain J. M. C. Abrial and his officers last evening at the Click Clack Cabaret. Before the ball Captain Wells entertained Captain Abrial and two of its officers on board the Diomede, and |hen a large party attended the ball.
