LOSSES REPORTED IN SOUTH CAUGHT WORRYING EWES (From Our Own CorrespondentJ CHRISTCHURCH, Today Sheepowners in the Styx district are Buffering severe losses from Alsatian dogs. . It is reported that on a recent night one man lost 19 ewes, valued at about £35, while another owner lost several worth £2 a head. A few days ago an Alsatian bitch was caught in the act of worrying a ewe and was promptly shot. These incidents are being used to support the efforts of those who are seeking to have legislation put through to prohibit the breeding of Alsatians.
