TIVOLI AND EVERYBODY’S
“HOT STUFF” Youth has its fling in “Hot Stuff,” a youthful, peppy and effervescent comedy of the films that is now at the Tivoli and Everybody's Theatres. This gay First National college story stars Alice White, youngest of the stars, and was directed by IMerwn Le Roy. youngest of the directors. Almost without exception, the cast is composed of youngsters. “Hot Stuff" was adapted from the college romance “Bluffers,” written by Robert S. Carr, the high school author. It provides an ideal role for Miss White, whose work in the youthful “Show Girl” and “Xaughty Baby” will long be remembered. William Bakewell plays opposite the star, and Louise Fazenda and Doris Dawson head a big cast of capable players. “Hot Stuff” is said to be one of the finest stories of college life yet filmed. A Hoot Gibson picture of the Western type, entitled “High Society,” is the chief feature on the bright supporting programme at both theatres. VICTOR McLAGLEN AT ROYAL “Captain Lash,” the picture to be screened at the Royal Theatre, Kingsland, this evening - , stars the inimitable Victor McLaglen in one of his best roles—that of a rough ship's stoker on a tramp steamer plying between Sydney and Singapore. Claire Windsor portrays the role of a much-travelled young lady whose charms interest the stoker, despite the wide gap in their social status. The film closes only after many exciting incidents.
The beautiful actress Florence Vidor is the star of 'The World At Her Feet,” the seoond feature.
