A BRIGHT SHOW
FRANK O’BRIAN AT ST. JAMES Bright song and clever ballet work dominated by the sparkling wit of Frank O’Brian saw two and a-half hours pass almost unnoticed at St. James last evening. The show was bright and highly entertaining. Scene followed scene, giving combination and contrast "which did not allow one dull moment. Frank O’Brian was again in his merriest mood and, with the wealth of variety at his disposal, the audience was kept in that pleasant state of constant anticipation which passes an evening away all too quickly. His burlesque as conductor of a jazz band, and his special interpretation of the song “Forty-Seven Ginger-Headed Sailors,” were two of the star numbers of the evening. Assisting the comedian was Miss Janice Hart, who never failed to meet with appreciation from the audience. The solo work of A 1 Batcheleder at the piano gave contrast to the general lightness and frivolity of the show and proved a most popular i,tem. Good supporting artists are Mabelle Morgan, Marie Ward, Iris Gumbley, Eric Masters and Joe Hudson. The ballet work was of a particularly high standard. Under the direction of Tiny Douglas, the Varsity Boys provided several melodious and much appreciated items. .
