TRUCK SMASHES WINDOW
COLLISION IN ONEHUNGA
STEERING GEAR GIVES WAY
A collision, which occurred at i 1.40 last night between two motor-trucks in Queen Street, Onehunga, resulted in the plate-glass window of H. W. Clegg’s tobacconist shop being smashed and the under structure of the front wall being displaced. One truck, which was driven by Harry Wynn, of Mountain View Road, Morningside, in turning to the right out of Church Street East, struck another truck which was travelling south along Queen Street, and which was driven by Bryan Coadbrooke, market gardener, of Mangere. Tho steering gear of the latter vehicle gave way, causing it to swerve across the road and footpath, where it came to rest against the shop wall. Apart from the broken steering-gear on the second, neither of the trucks was damaged and both drivers escaped unhurt.
