OFFENCE AGAINST GIRL
ACCUSED FOUND GUILTY REMANDED FOR SENTENCE A criminal assault against a 15-year-old girl was proved against Albert Ernest Austin, aged 19, in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon. He stood trial on four charges of rape, indecent assault, carnal knowledge and assault. Mr. Justice Herdman, who presided over the hearing, directed the jury’s special attention to the charge of carnal knowledge, and this was the charge on which the jury returned a verdict of guilty. Prisoner was remanded until Wednesday for sentence.
