ALL BLACKS DEPART

SYDNEY PAPER’S PARTING TRIBUTE OLD PROBLEM OF THE SCRUM Reed. 1.15 p.m. SYDNEY, Today. The Sydney “Morning Herald” editorially says:—“The New Zealanders depart today, having enhanced their reputation for sportsmanship and clean play. Their defeats by South Africa and Australia are new experiences to the All Blacks, and raise doubts as to the expediency of the tactical disposition of their forwards, and it is at least arguable that a scrum of seven men must be beaten more often than not by a scrum of eight.” The “Herald” adds“ Followers of the Union code are greatly indebted to New Zealand for the periodical visit of teams, which has eased the financial position and provided our players with invaluable experience.”
