REPLACEMENT OPPOSED IN U SYDNEY F V MOVE FOR ABOLITION SYDNEY, Thursday. There is an agitation in Sydney Rugby Union circles to abolish the rule which permits a team to replace an injured player in the first half of a game. This occurred in recent matches between the All Blacks and the Australians. It is described in the Press as farcical. It is not allowed by the English or New Zealand Unions. It is understood that C. G. Porter, the All Blacks’ captain, does not. approve of injured men being replaced'.
