JURY DISAGREES

RE-TRIAL OF TAXI DRIVER ORDERED

Charges of indecent exposure and assault upon young girls were preferred against Austin Walker, aged 22, taxidriver (Mr. Noble), before Mr. Justice Ostler at the Supreme Court yesterday. There were two charges of indecent exposure, one of indecent assault, and one of common assault. The jury cou d not agree. The girls, whose ages ranged from eight to 13 years, said they had been asked to go into a garage at Avondale where accused kept his <ar. it was there the offences occurred. The jury returned at 9 o'clock in the evening, having failed to p °* r nfter a retirement of more than four hours. A re-trial was ordered.
