CUT IN SUBMARINE BUILDING PROGRAMME.—The cancellation of two new submarines has meant a serious blow to the shipbuilding trade at Home. The Parthian, one of six vessels designed for oversea patrolling, is shown taking the water at Chatham a few weeks ago. The estimates originally included six of this class, of which the Parthian was the third.
