HIT AND RUN DRIVER
INJURED HORSE LEFT ON ROADWAY STRUCK BY MOTOR A young horse owned by Mr. Fitzgerald, of Manawaru, happening to stray on to the road, was run into bv an unknown motorist, with the result that both forelegs were broken. The motorist drove off without notifying anyone of the poor beast’s plight A second motorist, who saw the animal’s injuries, was instrumental in putting it out of its agony with a bullet. That it was a car that caused the accident is evident by the extensive skid marks on the road.
