VOICE HEARD CLEARLY
(THE SUN'S Parliamentary Reporter) PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Today. The Radio Exhibition in Dunedin was opened this afternoon from Parliament Buildings, Wellington. That may sound incredible, but nevertheless it is true, and the PostmasterGeneral, the Hon. J. B. Donald, was the man who performed the opening ceremony from his room iri Parliament House. This is believed to be the lirst occasion on which long-distance telephony has been used for this purpose. Special arrangements had been made for amplifying the voice of Mr. Donald and the Hon. W. B. Taverner, Minister of Railways and ex-Mayor of Dunedin, who introduced him over the telephone, in the same room. Both Mr. Taverner and Mr. Donald heard the speeches of the president of the exhibition, and Mr. R. S. Black, Mayor of Dunedin, and then Mr. Donald opened the exhibition. Subsequently. Mr. Donald had telegrams saying that the reception of his voice in Dunedin was remarkably clear.
