guide committee entertains friends at PLEASANT FUNCTION j BLUE AND WHITE STREAMERS Iho T orcsters’ Hall at Devonport last evening was the scene of a most ! successful clance arranged by the com- ] mittee of the North Shore Girl Guides. | hall was bedecked with blue and I | white streamers and pretty favours i | were distributed among: the dancers. Music was in the capable bands of the Kit Kat Band and Mr. Gurr controlled the floor. A Monte Carlo j competition was won by Miss Mollie Cambridge and Mr. Alan Mars. Among the committee members present were:—Mrs. Clarke, in rose ninon; Mrs. Bray, who wore black marocain, with gold lace; Mrs. Gooding, who chose black and white georgette; Mrs. Ryan, in black lace and georgette: Mrs. Lee, who wore navy blue crepe do chine, trimmed with sequins; Mrs. Perry Taylor, in midnight blue brocade; Mrs. Robinson, who was in beige? crepe de chine. Others present were:— * Miss Norah Clarke (captain), who was in black ring velvet and mandarin jacket; Miss Mollie Cambridge (lieut.), in cherry beaded georgette: Miss Noelle AN ynyard, who wore black velvet and orange taffeta, uneven hemline; Miss R. Woods, who chose nil green georgette, pink taffeta bow and rosebuds; Miss Pat Wynyard, ankle-length frock of pink shaded net; Miss J. Best, wearing white taffeta and lace, with shoulder posy; I i Miss Doreen Ryan, in lido blue anklelength georgette with diamente trim- j GEORGETTE AND TINSEL j Miss M. Bowen, who wore nile green j georgette and tinsel lame, relieved with silver flower; Miss Phyllis McGregor, in ! pink georgette and chenille. Spanish shawl; Miss Phyllis Best, champagne chenille, with crepe de chine skirt of uneven length; Miss Gladwyn Wynyard, in powder blue silk and rosebuds; Miss B. Gooding, who wore leaf green georgette; Miss H. Bending, who chose apple green crepe dc chine, and tulle trimming. Miss L. Block ley, in a frock of cerise I crepe de chine, with brilliant buckle, and silver lacc trimmings; Miss Edith Bush, who wore pink satin and silver shoulder posy; Miss L. Macduff, wearing black ring velvet, uneven hemline; Miss R. : Aughten, in floral and beige ninon; Miss f. Ardley, who chose salmon georgette, uneven hem; Miss .f. Lee, wearing kingfisher blue, with silver and orange trimMiss E. Bending, who wore larkspur blue georgette, diamente trimming; Miss Muriel MacDougall, in a frock of powder blue tulle, silver trimmed; Miss Ngaio Penrose, who chose moonlight blue taffeta shot with silver; Miss Helen L. Schmidt, wearing pale floral green taffeta, uneven hemline; Miss Zelda Jury (New Plymouth), In deep pink crepe de chine, with skirt of vandyked frills: Miss Evelyn Bentley, wearing shell pink georgette; Miss Ethel Latta, who was in apple green taffeta. Miss Joyce Gooding, who chose ivory tulle and velvet; Miss B. Gladding, in lime taffeta, and lame, with uneven hemline; Miss K. Clarke-, in green chiffon velvet, uneven hemline; Miss Joyce Ardley, who chose, black velvet dress with lemon flower; Miss Inez Bray, in pale blue georgette and silver shoulder posy; Miss K. O’Brien, who chose cherry georgette.
