PERSONAL. —Captain P. Foster, marine superintendent of the Union Company, returned to Wellington on Tuesday from Svdney by the Marama. ‘Mr. A. Duckworth, of the Union Company, left Wellington on Tuesday for Sydney by the Maunganui. Mr. J. Dawson has been appointed chief officer of the Waikouaiti, relieving Mr. C. H. M. Long, who has transferred to the Kaponga in a similar capacity. Mr. N. Archbold has relieved Mr. T. A. Mack as second officer of the Kaimanawa. The latter officer is standing-by at Auckland. Mr. T. C. Langford, third officer of the Kaimanawa, has also left the vessel at Auckland. MAHENO FOR SYDNEY.—The Union Company advises that the intercolonial passenger steamer Maheno leaves Auckland at 11 o’clock tomorrow for Sydney, where she is due next Tuesday morning. KAITUNA LEAVES BRISBANE.— Cabled news has been received -by the Union Company that the Kaituna left Brisbane on Tuesday morning with a cargo of coal for Miramar. She is due at Wellington on August 7. AGE REPORTS.—According to a radio message received by Henderson and Macfarlane, the steamer Age is expected to arrive at Auckland on August 6 from Ocean Island. The vessel is bringing a full cargo of phosphates for discharge at this port. WIRRAL LEAVES NAURU ISLAND. —Advice has been received by Henderson and Macfarlane that the steamer Wirral left Nauru Island on Monday last with 7,500 tons of phosphates for discharge at New Plymouth and Wanganui. She is expected at Wanganui on August 10. KALINGO TO CENTRAL. The Lamb steamer Ivalingo is expected to . arrive b?».ck from Napier early this afternoon and is to go to a berth at Central Wharf to commence loading for Australia. From Auckland the vessel is to proceed to Kaipara and other New Zealand ports to complete filling up. HAURAKI DUE MONDAY.—Further radio advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the motor-ship Hauraki is expected to arrive at Auckland on Monday from the Pacific Coast ports. After discharge here, the vessel proceeds to Wellington. Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney to complete. THE CANADIAN CONQU EROR.—The Canadian Conqueror left Lyttelton yesterday for Dunedin and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington next Monday to load for New York, Boston and Montreal. She will sail from Wellington on Tuesday for Auckland, and is to clear Auckland finally on August 9. KAIAPOI AT BLUFF.—Advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the steamer Kaiapoi arrived at Bluff at 10 p.m. yesterday from Melbourne and Hobart, and leaves again this evening, via Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington and New Plymouth, for Auckland. She is due here about August 11. PORT GISBORNE LOADING.—The C. and D. liner Port Gisborne left Port Chalmers yesterday to load at Bluff, Lyttelton, New Plymouth, Wanganui and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on August 13, and is to leave there on August 14 for Napier, Gisborne and Auckland to fill up. The Port Gisborne will sail finally from Auckland on August 24 for New York, Boston and London. NOBEL COMPANY’S VESSELS.—The Huia sailed from the Tamaki powder anchorage at 9.30 o’clock this morning with a cargo of explosives for discharge at Napier, Greymouth, Westport and Dunedin.
The Pii'i, which has been completing her discharge of explosives from Melbourne at the Tamaki powder anchorage, is expected to come up to the Western Wharf this afternoon in order to undergo her annual overhaul and survey.
MATAROA'S MOVEMENTS. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advises that their liner Mataroa is to leave Lyttelton today for Port Chalmers and Bluff to complete discharge. She will commence loading at Bluff, and is to load also at Timaru, Lyttelton and "Wellington. The Mataroa is due at Wellington on August 21, and will sail finally from there oil August 28 at 6 a.m. for Southampton and London, via the Pana a t route.
CUMBERLAND TO LOAD.—The New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Federal steamer Cumberland will leave Port Chalmers today for Bluff to complete discharge of her Liverpool cargo. The vessel will commence loading at Bluff, and is to load also at Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, Gisborne and Auckland. She is timed to sail finally from Auckland on August 21 for London, Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool, via Panama Canal and Curacao. TOFUA FOR AUCKLAND.—Leaving Suva at noon today for Auckland, the local office of the Union Company expects the Island passenger steamer Tofua to arrive here next Mondav from her monthly trip to the Pacific Islands. FRUIT STEAMER WAIPAHI.—The Union Company's Island fruit steamer Waipahi left Wellington at 5 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she is due tomorrow. She will berth at the King's Wharf and on Saturday leaves here for Rarotonga, Aitutaki, Atiu, Mauke and Mangaia. TRANS - PACIFIC CARGO SERVICE. —The Wairuna, from Ocean Falls, is d'D» at San Francisco today and will go thence to Los Angeles. She will clear Los Angeles on August S for Lyttelton. Dunedin, Nelson, New Plymouth and Napier and is due at Lyttelton on September 4. The Waikawa left Suva on July 20 for Vancouver, where she is due on August 10. She will load for Auckland, ‘Wellington. Melbourne and Sydney. The Waihemo will leave Bluff today for Port Chalmers and go thence to New Plymouth. She will return to Vancouver via Westport. The Waitemata will probably berth at Port Kembla today and return to Sydney, going thence to Suva and Vancouver. The Hauraki, from Los Angeles, is due at Auckland on August 6 and will go to Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. The Waiotapu left Los Angeles on July 20 for Auckland, via Papeete. She is due at Papeete on August 4, at Auckland on August 17. She will go thence to Melbourne and Sidney.
THE PORT DUNEDIN. —The C. and H. Line advises that the Port Dunedin left Lyttelton yesterday for Wellington, where she is due this morning to fill up. The vessel is now fixed ’to sail finally from Wellington at noon tomorrow for London, via the Panama Canal. HURUNUI DUE.—The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Hurunui is expected to leave Gisborne for Auckland at 4 p.m. today to complete loading re* frigerated and general cargo for New York, Boston and London. The vessel is due tomorrow afternoon, and will berth at Queen’s Wharf. She is scheduled to sail for New Y'ork next Wednesday. PORT ALMA LEAVES WELLINGTON. —The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor-ship Port Alma left Wellington at midday yesterday for Auckland and New Plymouth in continuation of her voyage from London. The vessel has sent a radio message that she expects to reach Tiritiri at 5 a.m. tomorrow, and she will berth at Prince’s Wharf: After completion of discharge at New Plymouth she will go to Australia to load for her homeward voyage. Heather R.oberton, Ltd., is the local agent. RUAHINE IN PORT.—From London, Via Wellington, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ituahine arrived at Auckland this morning. She berthed at Prince's Wharf to unload the remainder of her general merchandise cargo and to commence loading New Zealand produce for her homeward voyage. Her other loading ports are Gisborne, Napier, Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington. With passengers and mail she is scheduled tu clear Wellington for Southampton and London, via Panama, on August 21.
