LONG-DISTANCE LOADING.—The steamer Golden Coast, now at Auckland, loaded her cargo of timber at Noyo, California, in record time, under difficult conditions. The ship was anchored a quarter of a mile from a 200 ft cliff, from which the timber was loaded by two cableways at the rate of 20,000 feet an hour.
