WELLINGTON REFEREES

APPEAL TO SOCCER COUNCIL Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Soccer authorities in Wellington do not like the rule refusing to allow referees or linesmen who wear glasses. It was stated at a meeting that six first-class men were kept off-owing to this. It was pointed out that it is a rule laid down by the English Association, and. if an appeal was made, the latter would be bound to allow it. The view was taken that the English Council should be asked to waive tho rule as far as Wellington is concerned. and representations will be made accordingly.
