“HOUSE OF HORROR” AT ROYAL

All precedents for weird rooms, passages and furnishings set by mystery thriller backgrounds have been broken by “The House of Horror,” the thriller now at the Royal Theatre, Kingsland. “The Uncanny Room,” “The Vampire Dungeon,” “The Black Magic Temple” and “The Curiosity Shop” are the architect’s designation of just a few of the eerie sets used. Benjamin Christensen directed, and Louise Fazenda, Chester Conklin, James Ford and Thelma Todd head a large cast. “Wolves of the City,” which is also being shown, is an exciting but most enjoyable tale of art thieves in New York, starring Sally Blane and William Cody as a young millionaire looking for life.
