PRINCE HUMPHREY
\ PPARENTLY the official finding in the Prince Humphrey case, that the last A.J.C. Derby winner was out of imported Princess Hazel instead of Shepherd Princess, does not find favour with many leading Australian sportsmen, according to Mr. G. M. Currie, who returned this week from a trip to Australia. He said that sportsmen who are at the top in the racing game are insistent that Prince Humphrey was out of Shepherd Princess, for when they saw the colt racing they discovered several characteristics in his conformation pointing him as a descendant of Shepherd King, the si**e of Shepherd Princess. Mr. Currie mentioned several well-known sportsmen, household names some of them, who held this opinion. but despite that the records have been altered in keeping with the official finding. Mr. Currie said that, in their opinion. whatever blunder was made the stud farm staff were responsible. Personally, he leaned toward the opinion that Prince Humphrey is the foal out of Shepherd Princess.
