The Tauranga South Bowling Club has decided to ask the Tauranga Bowling C!ub to join in making a request to the Dominion Centre to include Tauranga in the itinerary of the Canadian bowling team, which is to visit New Zealand earlv in the new year.

EDWIN STARS MATCH PONSONBY BEATS WEST END A match for the Edwin Stars, played on Saturday between Ponsonby, holders, and t\est End, resulted in a win for Ponsonby by 24 points to 37. The first head was played three times before anv result came, Bremner being responsible for two dead heads with run shots. Ponsonby then opened the score with a four, West End replying with a two on the next head. Ponsonby continued to have the upper hand, and on the completion of the sixth head was leading 13 —2. Singles to each side saw the score 16—5 after the eleventh head. Allen held shot on the twelfth head, and Richardson and Somervell both added to the position. Bremner drove, and took out two bowls, but Somervell put in his last bowl, and Parsons, drawing another, Ponsonby scored thi’ee. Allen had a toucher on the fifteenth head, but Hardley beat it. Cox got in two good ones. Richardson got second shot, but Cox pushed him through for two. Somervell got a timely second. Clarke played two fine shots, and West End scored four. On the sixteenth head Bremner secured shot. Both skips failed to make any alteration, and West End scored one. Hardley was holding shot on the seventeenth head, but Richardson got a good second. Cox made it two. Bremner drew two fine shots. Somervell saved well, and Parsons failed. Hardley led the way on the eighteenth head, but Richardson secured shot. Somervell added another. Clarke drew the absolute, and a single went to West End. Ponsonby scored four on the nineteenth head, and was practically assured of victory. West End scored singles on the next two heads, and the game ended:— Ponsonby, 24; West End, 17. MANUREWA CLUB ANNUAL MEETING Mr. C. A. Fawcett, president of the Manurewa Bowling Club, presided over a good attendance of members at the annual meeting, held recently. After a long discussion, it was decided to enter the Auckland Centre pennant competitions. The delegate to the centre was instructed to support the proposal of commencing the Easter tournament on a Saturday. In spite of further liability in the capital account, on account of the installation of a water supply, the balance sheet disclosed a substantial balance. A. motion approving the half-hour daylight saving was passed. Trophies won by the club members during the past season were presented as follows;—Championship singles, Mr. R. Frost; championship pairs, Messrs. R. Forbes and C. A. Nield; handicap pairs, Messrs. C. A. Nield and R. Sidawav; percentage fours. Messrs. C. White, R. Sidaway. C. Coxhead, R. Frost.
