EMPLOYERS MAKE OFFER Negotiations in the trawling dispute are still continuing. Today representatives of Messrs. Sanford, Ltd., and delegates from its trawling crew* are meeting in a further endeavour on the part of the Conciliation Commissioner, Mr. P. Haily, to effect a settlement. f FHE dispute arose more than ten days ago, when the men demanded 36 hours shore leave a week, instead of 24 hours, with 36 in every fourth week. The company offered a concession of 24 hours and 36 hours on alternate weeks. Beyond this the company’s representatives said they "ere not prepared to go. At today’s meeting a proposal was made by the employers and the meeting adjourned until four o'clock to give the men an opportunity of considering it. Their answer will then be given.
