EFFORTS BY TAKAPUNA EX-SERVICEMEN

Having already done much to alleviate unemployment in Takapuna the Takapuna Ex-Servicemen's Club is holding a flag day on August 3 to raise more money to aid its useful work. In addition to helping unemployed men, the club has helped in improving public property in the borough. The school grounds at Milford and Takapuna have been cleared and planted, and now levelling work is being done at Taharoto Park.

All money collected by the club Is subsidised, and a sum of £B6 collected in the first year was increased by grants and subsidies to .£BOO,
